The Noida Authority has announced the expansion of the Yamuna Pushta Road into a 10-lane corridor to manage the expected surge in traffic due to the upcoming Noida International Airport. Currently, the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway serves as the primary route connecting Noida with Greater Noida and Jewar, but traffic is expected to increase significantly once the airport opens. The road will initially be widened to six lanes, with plans for future expansion to eight to ten lanes. Additionally, a 31.2 km six-lane elevated road will be constructed, starting from Okhla Barrage near Noida Sector 94, crossing the Hindon River, and merging with the Yamuna Expressway near Gharbara village. This project aims to provide direct connectivity from Delhi to the airport, thereby reducing travel time and alleviating congestion on existing routes. Almondz Global Infra has been tasked with conducting a feasibility study, with a detailed project report expected within three months. The project is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, with costs shared among Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna authorities.
