A prototype unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) from LAT Aerospace crashed into a wheat field near Nandpur village in Etawah district, Uttar Pradesh, during a test flight on Friday evening. The UAV lost control due to strong winds and a mechanical snag while operating from the Saifai airstrip, where LAT Aerospace had prior approval for testing. Local residents, initially alarmed by the crash, alerted the police, who secured the wreckage with help from a fire brigade. Additional District Magistrate Abhinav Ranjan Srivastava confirmed that there were no injuries or significant damage to crops, and assured that public safety was not compromised. LAT Aerospace stated that they have contacted the farmer whose crops were affected and will provide full compensation.
