In a tragic incident on Saturday morning, a delivery vehicle crashed into a parked road-milling machine near Rani Majra Chowk in Mullanpur, Punjab, resulting in the death of the driver, Ashnish. The accident occurred between 4:30 AM and 5:30 AM while Ashnish and his companion, Gokul, were traveling from Kharar to Chandigarh. The milling machine, owned by Singla Construction, reportedly had no indicators, reflectors, or lights, making it difficult to identify on the road. Ashnish died at the scene, while Gokul sustained head injuries and a fractured leg and was taken to the civil hospital in Phase 6, Mohali. The police have initiated an investigation and registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the unknown operator of the milling machine.
