On Thursday, poll-related violence in Assam, India, resulted in injuries to around 30 individuals, with two in serious condition requiring hospitalization at Karimganj Civil Hospital. The unrest began when Congress candidate Kartik Sena Sinha allegedly confronted the presiding officer at a polling booth in Patharkandi constituency, claiming that fake electors were casting votes. This led to a physical altercation between supporters of the Congress and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Seven people were arrested in connection with the violence. In Dibrugarh district, clashes also erupted involving leaders of the Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) and BJP supporters, resulting in injuries to three AJP leaders.
