Bhola Singh, a farmer from Khurrampur Bhamori village in Budaun district, Uttar Pradesh, was shocked to receive tax notices amounting to ₹14.66 crore due to a fraudulent firm operating under his name in Delhi's Naraina Industrial Area. The firm, 'Ram Store,' reportedly has outstanding income tax dues of ₹1.02 crore and a Goods and Services Tax (GST) liability of ₹13.63 crore. Singh, who claims he has never traveled to Delhi or established any business, submitted a formal complaint to the Budaun District Magistrate, Avneesh Rai. In response, a two-member investigation team has been formed to look into the matter. Preliminary findings indicate that Singh's Aadhaar and PAN numbers were misused to create the fraudulent firm. Despite seeking help from local police, his complaints have not been registered, leaving him in a precarious situation. Singh is appealing for an impartial inquiry and strict action against those responsible for this identity theft and fraud.
