In financial year 2025-26, Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) reached a historic milestone with 44.82 million tonnes (MT) of mineral production and revenues of approximately ₹25,300 crore (around $3.06 billion USD). This performance was primarily driven by a significant increase in iron ore production, which hit 40.02 MT, reflecting a 12.06% year-on-year growth. Chrome ore and bauxite production also saw robust increases, with chrome ore rising by 25.19% to 1.69 MT. Total mineral dispatches reached 42.5 MT, with iron ore leading sales at 38.26 MT. OMC attributed its success to improved operational efficiencies and technology-driven systems that optimize extraction and safety standards. The corporation is also committed to sustainable mining practices, including dust suppression, afforestation, and water conservation initiatives. Additionally, OMC continues to support local communities through various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs focusing on healthcare, education, and infrastructure. Recently, OMC partnered with the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad to advance research and innovation in sustainable mining practices.
