The Chetak Screen Awards 2026, organized by The Indian Express Group, aims to honor excellence in the film industry based on merit. Scheduled for April 5 in Mumbai, the ceremony will be streamed live on YouTube and SonyLIV, and broadcast on Sony Entertainment Television starting at 8 pm. This year, the awards will feature 31 categories, recognizing not only actors but also technicians who contribute significantly to filmmaking. Alia Bhatt, a prominent actress known for her roles in films such as 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' and 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani', will host the event alongside comedian Sunil Grover and stand-up comedian Zakir Khan. The nominations are led by Aditya Dhar’s espionage thriller 'Dhurandhar', which has received 24 nominations, followed by Mohit Suri’s romantic musical 'Saiyaara' with 17 nominations. Winners will be selected by the SCREEN Academy, an independent body comprising over 50 esteemed filmmakers and cultural figures, ensuring a fair and transparent selection process.
