Rajpal Yadav, an Indian actor, recently recounted his 12 days in Tihar Jail while discussing his experiences with filmmaker Farah Khan. His incarceration stemmed from a cheque bounce case involving a debt of ₹9 crore (approximately $1.1 million USD). Yadav explained that while he was not assigned specific duties in jail, he learned to maintain discipline during his time there, stating, 'I have learnt to live in every condition.' This case traces back to 2010, when he borrowed ₹5 crore from a Delhi-based company for his film directorial debut, Ata Pata Laapata, which did not succeed at the box office. Following a conviction in 2018, he was sentenced to six months in jail, a verdict upheld in 2019. After surrendering in February 2023, he was granted interim bail on February 16 after depositing ₹1.5 crore. Although the Delhi High Court provided some relief, his recent plea for a 30-day extension to arrange funds was denied. Yadav is now looking forward to the release of his upcoming horror-comedy film, Bhooth Bangla, set for April 17.
