During a recent visit to Jiribam district in Manipur, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh commended the area's unique achievement of fostering unity among diverse communities for peace after three years of unrest. At a 'Community Interaction Programme' in New Alipur Rongmei Naga village, he engaged with internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the Meitei, Kuki, Paite, and Hmar communities, addressing their concerns and fears about returning home. Khemchand assured the IDPs of the government's commitment to assist them, stating, 'I may not fulfil all your wishes, but I will continue to help you all in whatever way I can.' He also emphasized the importance of improving the health sector in Jiribam, noting the reluctance of specialist doctors to work in the area and advocating for a transparent transfer policy for health professionals. The Chief Minister's visit included an inspection of the Jiribam District Hospital, where he pledged support for enhancing healthcare facilities. Accompanying him were nine BJP MLAs, showcasing political support for the peace-building efforts in the region.
