He referred to them as 'Bangla-Birodhi Zamindars', accusing them of seeking votes without addressing the needs of the people. In a post on 'X', Banerjee stated that the TMC's government, known as 'Maa-Mati-Manush Sarkar', has consistently supported the citizens without demanding anything in return. He questioned the absence of Modi and Shah during crises, such as floods in North Bengal, while they only appear during election season. In response, PM Modi, during a rally in Cooch Behar, asserted that the TMC would be held accountable for its governance after the elections, claiming that the BJP would ensure development in the state. The West Bengal elections are scheduled for April 23 and 29, with the counting of votes on May 4.
