The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) successfully apprehended Arun, a wanted drug trafficker, in Sambhal district on Friday. Arun, who carried a reward of ₹50,000, was implicated in a 2023 case registered at the Bikapur police station in Ayodhya under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. He had been evading arrest since the registration of the case. Arun was reportedly involved in the illegal trafficking of ganja, procuring it from Odisha and selling it at inflated prices in Meerut and surrounding areas. His arrest followed intelligence inputs that indicated his hiding location in Sambhal. Following his capture, Arun was transferred to the Bikapur police station for further proceedings.
