Arvind Kejriwal (former Chief Minister of Delhi) has requested the recusal of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma from his ongoing case related to the liquor policy, claiming a trend of bias in favor of investigating agencies. During a court session, he detailed that every argument from the agencies has been upheld, with only one exception, and expressed that Justice Sharma's March 9 order seemed to undermine the trial court's previous dismissal of charges against him and others. Kejriwal, arguing in court for the first time, stated his nervousness and highlighted concerns about political bias, particularly regarding cases involving opposition parties. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta countered Kejriwal's claims, questioning the validity of decisions influenced by public sentiment or social media. Following a four-hour hearing, the court reserved its judgment on the recusal applications from Kejriwal and several co-defendants, who had previously been discharged from the case by a trial court citing insufficient evidence against them.
