On April 14, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate India's first indigenous open-access quantum computer test beds, Amaravati 1S and 1Q, at SRM University in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. This event coincides with World Quantum Day and marks a significant milestone in establishing the Amaravati Quantum Valley as a global hub for quantum technology. The test beds will facilitate research, certification, and testing of quantum technologies, fostering collaboration among academia, startups, and industry. Developed with fully indigenous components, these facilities will serve as Quantum Reference Facilities, enabling rigorous evaluation of quantum devices under extreme cryogenic conditions. The initiative has garnered technical support from prestigious institutions like the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and the Defence Research and Development Organisation. The launch event is expected to attract participation from scientists, professors, and over 150,000 students across the state, highlighting the importance of this project in positioning Andhra Pradesh at the forefront of advanced computing infrastructure.
