G S Sharanya, a 36-year-old woman from Nadapuram in Kozhikode district, Kerala, was found safe after going missing for four days in the Tadiandamol hills of Kodagu district, Karnataka. Sharanya was part of a 10-member trekking group that began their journey on April 2 but lost her way shortly after reaching the trekking base. She reported having only a 500 ml bottle of water and no mobile connectivity, which made it difficult to contact anyone for help. Despite the challenging conditions, including heavy rain and the presence of wildlife, she remained calm and did not feel afraid during her ordeal. A massive search operation was initiated, involving nine teams including forest officials and local communities, after she failed to return. Karnataka Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre confirmed her safe recovery and praised her bravery. Authorities are now ensuring her safe return to Kerala.
