The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the reopening of the scholarship application portal for students who missed the opportunity to apply for the 2025-26 academic session. The initiative, led by the social welfare department, aims to ensure that no eligible student is deprived of financial support due to technical difficulties or other issues. In the previous academic session of 2024-25, the portal was reopened, resulting in 53,041 students receiving scholarships and fee reimbursements totaling ₹81.2 crore (approximately $9.8 million USD). Among these, 25,395 Scheduled Caste (SC) students received ₹30.6 crore (about $3.7 million USD), while 27,646 students from the general category received ₹50.5 crore (around $6.1 million USD). Social welfare minister Aseem Arun stated, "We are committed to giving equal opportunities to all. The scheme is an effort to ensure every student continues education." This reopening is expected to further support students in need of financial assistance.
