Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has vehemently denied allegations made by the Congress party regarding his wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sharma. During a press conference, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera showcased documents purportedly linking Sharma to foreign passports issued by the United Arab Emirates, Antigua & Barbuda, and Egypt, as well as properties in these countries. Sarma responded by challenging the authenticity of these documents, alleging they are 'AI-generated and photoshopped'. He claimed that a reverse Google search revealed discrepancies, such as mismatched birth years and incorrect national identification numbers. Furthermore, he stated that the governments of the UAE and Antigua & Barbuda have indicated that the documents are not genuine, while Egypt has yet to respond. Sarma also denied allegations of his family operating a business in Wyoming, USA, asserting that related companies were registered only after the Congress press conference. In response, Assam Congress President Gaurav Gogoi has called for transparency regarding the Sarma family's foreign assets and has vowed that justice will be served following an investigation.
