On Saturday, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu laid the foundation stone for significant development projects in Una district, Himachal Pradesh, amounting to ₹260 crore (approximately $31 million USD). The centerpiece is the Bulk Drug Park, a national project under construction at Polian Beet in Haroli subdivision, estimated to cost ₹250 crore. This facility aims to bolster India's pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities, particularly in Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), thereby reducing reliance on foreign sources for medicinal raw materials. Sukhu emphasized the urgency of the project, urging officials to ensure visible progress within the next six to eight months. Additionally, a ₹10 crore working women's hostel will be established in Panjuana to support local women. The CM also introduced the Dr YS Parmar Vidyarthi Rin Yojana, which provides financial assistance to students for higher education at a nominal interest rate of 1%. Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri highlighted the government's commitment to establishing Haroli as a significant industrial hub.
