In an interview with CNBC, Buffett stated he is not ready to commit to future donations and will wait to see how the situation develops. This decision follows the release of documents by the US Department of Justice that revealed Gates' meetings with Epstein to discuss philanthropy after Epstein's 2008 guilty plea. Buffett mentioned he has not communicated with Gates since the revelations, emphasizing that he does not want to be involved in any discussions until the matter is resolved. He has donated over $47 billion to the Gates Foundation since 2006, with last year's contribution exceeding $4.5 billion. Buffett plans to cease his donations upon his death, directing 99.5% of his remaining wealth to a charitable trust managed by his children.
