On April 8, 2023, a delegation from the Himachal Pradesh Computer Teachers’ Association, led by President Suman Thakur, met with Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The delegation presented a memorandum detailing their demands, which included the formulation of a permanent policy for computer teachers and the regularization of their services. CM Sukhu listened to their concerns and assured them that the state government would sympathetically consider their requests. Present at the meeting were Ramesh Thakur, President of the Mandi District Association, Hardev Singh, President of the Una District Association, and other representatives. In a related discussion, Himachal Pradesh Minister Vikramaditya Singh addressed the state's financial difficulties, stating that the debt has significantly increased, reaching ₹1 lakh crore due to ongoing issues that have persisted across various administrations. Singh emphasized that the cessation of the Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG) has exacerbated the financial strain, and the government is actively working to resolve these challenges.
