On Thursday morning, the body of an unidentified woman was discovered in an open field along the Madarpur-Puraina road in Kakori, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. The woman had her hands tied and exhibited multiple injury marks, raising suspicions of foul play. Local residents alerted the authorities after spotting the body around 8 am. Kamlesh Dixit, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for the West region, confirmed that the body showed signs of assault, including injuries to the head and deep bruises consistent with blunt force trauma. Investigators found blood-stained footprints and items such as bricks and a hard plastic pipe nearby, which may have been used in the attack. A post-mortem examination has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death and to confirm if sexual assault occurred. Police are also reviewing CCTV footage from the area to trace the victim's movements and identify potential suspects, while efforts to establish her identity are ongoing, including outreach to nearby districts such as Unnao.
