Police in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, have successfully arrested three individuals—Shankar Rathore, Sunil Rathore, and Pradeep Rai—who are believed to be part of a gang that targeted women across multiple states, including Gujarat. The arrests occurred after police traced the suspects through a 15-km CCTV trail, following a cheating incident reported on April 4. The gang allegedly gained the trust of unsuspecting women before stealing their jewelry. In the latest incident, they tricked a woman into giving them her earrings and mangalsutra. Authorities recovered a gold-plated locket, a pair of earrings, and ₹490 (approximately $6 USD) from the suspects. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Kamlesh Dixit, the gang frequently changed locations to avoid detection and has a history of drug addiction, which motivated their criminal activities. Further investigations are ongoing, with police units in other districts, including Gujarat, expressing interest in the case as more victims may emerge.
