Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed serious concern over the damage to rabi crops caused by unseasonal rains, hailstorms, and fires. During a high-level review meeting, he directed officials to ensure immediate compensation for affected farmers. Adityanath emphasized the need for a fair and timely assessment of losses for each impacted farmer and sharecropper. He instructed district officials to coordinate effectively among agriculture, revenue, and other relevant departments to expedite surveys and reports for relief distribution. The Chief Minister also called for active collaboration with insurance companies to facilitate quick settlement of crop insurance claims. Additionally, he mandated that funds from the State Disaster Relief Fund be made available to districts promptly, with district magistrates responsible for transparent assistance to farmers. Relief camps should be established as necessary, and support from mandi committees should be extended to farmers. In cases of loss of life or livestock, relief funds must be disbursed within 24 hours. Furthermore, families with damaged homes should receive housing assistance under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. Adityanath warned that negligence in relief efforts would not be tolerated and accountability for officials would be enforced.
