In a tragic incident early Thursday morning, Harish P, a 26-year-old resident of Banashankari, Bengaluru, was crushed to death by a tractor during a temple procession in Hulimavu, located on the outskirts of the city. Harish had visited a friend's home to distribute wedding invitations ahead of his upcoming marriage on April 29 and 30. The accident occurred around 5 am when the tractor, carrying the idol of Muthuraya Swamy, lost control on a sloping road, crushing Harish between the vehicle and a compound wall. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries en route. The driver fled the scene, and preliminary investigations indicate negligence. Following the tragedy, Harish's family and relatives staged a protest at Freedom Park in Bengaluru, demanding strict action against the driver and accountability from the procession organizers. The police are currently investigating the incident and working to locate the driver.
