This initiative aims to tackle recurring waterlogging issues before the monsoon season. During a review meeting, Singh emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among various agencies, including the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG). Currently, work is underway at nine identified hotspots, with nearly 160 kilometers of surface drains being cleaned. Improvements are also being made at key traffic junctions like IFFCO Chowk and Rajiv Chowk to enhance drainage connectivity. In the Narsinghpur area, a temporary drain is being upgraded to a permanent structure to improve water discharge. The MCG has addressed most sewerage issues at 40 identified locations, with the remaining expected to be resolved before the monsoon. Singh has also called for regular inspections of micro sewage treatment plants in city parks to ensure effective drainage systems.
