The Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, located in Rupnagar, Punjab, inaugurated its annual entrepreneurship and innovation summit, E-Summit 2026, on April 11. The two-day event, themed ‘Pioneering The Impossible,’ aims to inspire students and researchers to pursue innovative pathways rather than traditional routes. IIT Ropar's director, Rajeev Ahuja, highlighted the institute's role as a hub for deep-tech entrepreneurship, noting that it has incubated over 450 startups. He praised the Indian government's initiatives, such as Startup India, for fostering a supportive environment for young innovators. Rajesh Kumar Pathak, Secretary of the Technology Development Board (TDB), discussed the Research and Development and Innovation Fund, which offers grants to early-stage startups, emphasizing the importance of such events in shaping India's future technology landscape.
