The School Education Department in Mumbai has announced that the admission process for Class 11 for the academic year 2026-27 will begin on April 10, 2026 at 10 am through a centralized online system. This system, part of the state government’s Ease of Living initiative, was introduced last year to facilitate admissions across higher secondary schools. Students can fill out Part 1 of the admission form starting on this date, while Part 2, which allows for college selection and preferences, will be available only after the Class 10 results are declared by the State Board in June. This year, approximately 1.65 million students have taken the Class 10 exams, and many are expected to seek admission to Class 11. The Directorate of Education aims to avoid the delays experienced last year by starting the form-filling process earlier. However, concerns have been raised about the implementation of the online system in rural areas, which may create challenges for students and colleges.
