Shivram Mali, a 53-year-old grocery shop owner from Kundewadi village in Sinnar tehsil, Maharashtra, has accused Ashok Kharat, a self-styled godman, and his wife Kalpana of fraudulently taking his 16.5 acres of land in Mirgaon. Mali claims he and his three brothers purchased the land in 1997 for ₹15 lakh (approximately $18,000 USD). In 2003, they approached Kharat to sell the land, which he expressed interest in. Mali alleges that Kharat prepared sale documents in February 2004 without showing them the details, leading to their signatures being obtained under false pretenses. The sale deed later revealed a price of ₹3.86 lakh (approximately $4,600 USD). When Mali sought clarification, Kharat allegedly threatened him and his family with evil spells. Following Kharat's arrest on March 18 due to multiple complaints of sexual abuse and cheating, Mali decided to file a police complaint, resulting in an FIR registered against the couple by the Sinnar police.
