The Haryana government has directed the immediate implementation of revised minimum wages following protests by industrial workers in IMT Manesar, demanding better pay and working conditions. The new wage structure, effective April 1, 2026, includes a 35% increase across categories. Unskilled workers will see their wages rise from ₹11,274.60 to ₹15,220, while semi-skilled workers' wages will increase from ₹12,430.18 to ₹16,780.74. Skilled workers will now earn ₹18,500.81, up from ₹13,704.31, and highly skilled workers will receive ₹19,425.85, compared to ₹14,389.52 previously. Haryana's Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh emphasized the need for strict compliance and raised concerns about contractors not passing wage increases to laborers. Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar described the wage revision as a critical intervention to improve workers' living standards and productivity. He urged workers to return to work, highlighting the importance of cooperation between workers and industries. The labor department plans to enhance monitoring mechanisms to ensure compliance and prevent violations.
