The investigation by a government committee in Bangladesh has uncovered serious irregularities in the October 2025 Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) elections. The five-member panel, led by former justice AKM Asaduzzaman, reported that the election process was neither free nor fair, citing intimidation of voters and procedural irregularities. Former BCB president Aminul Islam faced allegations of abusing his authority during the elections, opting to respond in writing rather than meet with the committee. The report highlighted that Aminul and other officials manipulated the e-voting process, compromising voter confidentiality and violating the BCB constitution. As a result, the government has dissolved the previous BCB board and appointed Tamim Iqbal, the former captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team, as the new president. An ad hoc committee has been established to manage the BCB for the next three months while addressing the issues raised in the investigation.
