Apple Inc. is set to exclusively source foldable OLED panels from Samsung Display for its anticipated iPhone Fold, which may also be branded as the iPhone Ultra. According to a report from the Korean publication The Elec, Samsung Display will supply these panels for the next three years, starting production in the second quarter of 2024. Initial shipments are projected to reach 3 million units. The foldable panels will incorporate CoE (Color-on-Encapsulation) technology, which enhances display quality by eliminating the need for a polarizer. Additionally, they will utilize Samsung's M14 luminescent material, similar to that found in the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The highly anticipated iPhone Fold is expected to be unveiled in September 2024, coinciding with the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
