The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) is set to deploy an advanced artificial intelligence (AI)-driven system to overhaul the city's real estate approval processes. Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Bhide announced that this initiative aims to modernize urban governance and expedite project clearances, significantly enhancing the ease of doing business in the sector. By automating key approval processes, the AI system will minimize manual intervention and enable data-driven decision-making. The proposed platform will integrate various civic approval processes into a unified digital system, allowing stakeholders such as developers and architects to submit and track applications in real time. This move is expected to improve efficiency and transparency, reducing approval timelines that have historically hindered the sector. Mayor Ritu Tawde emphasized that the initiative aligns with Mumbai's vision of becoming a technologically advanced and investor-friendly city. With real estate being crucial for economic growth, the AI-led facility is anticipated to boost investor confidence and accelerate project execution. The MCGM is finalizing the necessary infrastructure and plans to roll out the system in phases, ensuring smooth adoption through training and support.
