Between April 15 and 17, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) conducted a significant operation to remove illegal constructions, demolishing 46 structures and clearing 45,289 sq ft of encroachments. The crackdown took place across several wards, including B, C, E, F, and G, with the largest demolition occurring in B ward where nine illegal structures were removed, accounting for approximately 21,798 sq ft of encroached land. The operation targeted various types of illegal constructions, including tin sheds and reinforced concrete structures, particularly in areas like Bhosari and along the Pune-Nashik highway. The municipal authorities utilized heavy machinery for the demolitions, ensuring public safety and adherence to urban planning regulations. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi emphasized that this initiative is part of an ongoing effort to maintain urban development standards, and further actions are expected in the coming days.
