Duke University has welcomed former Belmont University forward Drew Scharnowski into its basketball program, making him the first player to join the Blue Devils from the transfer portal. Scharnowski, who stands at 6-foot-9 and weighs 230 pounds, had a notable sophomore season, averaging 10.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists while shooting an impressive 68.1 percent from the field in just over 21 minutes of play per game. The former 3-star recruit from Burlington, Illinois, was ranked as the No. 8 power forward in this year's transfer portal. His commitment comes shortly after fellow player Nikolas Khamenia announced his transfer to the University of Connecticut (UConn).
