The 6-foot-9 redshirt sophomore from Burlington, Illinois was a standout defender for the Bruins during the 2025-26 season, averaging 10.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 68.3% from the field. He played a crucial role in helping Belmont secure the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season championship with a 26-6 overall record. Scharnowski started in 24 of the Bruins' 32 games, achieving double-digit scoring in 17 contests and posting four double-doubles. His transfer marks him as the third player to leave Belmont following the recent season, joining Tyler Lundblade, who moved to the University of Tennessee, and Brigham Rogers, who transferred to Murray State.
