Haryana's State Election Commissioner Devinder Singh Kalyan has announced the appointment of observers for the municipal corporation, council, and committee elections scheduled for May 10, 2026. The observers, comprising senior IAS, IPS, and HCS officers, will be deployed in districts such as Ambala, Panchkula, and Sonepat to ensure the elections are conducted in a free, fair, transparent, and peaceful manner. General observers will supervise the randomization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and polling personnel, oversee the nomination process, and ensure the availability of basic facilities at polling stations. Police observers will monitor law and order, assess polling station sensitivity, and enforce prohibitory orders related to liquor and arms.
