In the recently announced Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class X results, Delhi government schools achieved a remarkable pass percentage of 97.23%, exceeding the national average of 93.7%. This marks a notable increase of 2.59 percentage points from the previous year's 94.64%. The number of schools with a 100% pass rate surged by 52%, rising from 300 to 457. Furthermore, schools with over 90% results also saw a significant increase of 75%, from 529 to 924. Among the 1,88,460 students who appeared for the exam, 1,83,246 passed, with girls achieving a pass percentage of 97.37% compared to 97.09% for boys. Education Minister Ashish Sood attributed this success to systemic improvements across all government schools, not just a few high performers. The government is committed to ensuring equitable access to education, highlighted by a ₹90 crore initiative to provide free bicycles to 1.3 lakh girls in Class IX. Investments in infrastructure include 9,000 smart classrooms, 175 modern computer labs, and 125 digitized libraries, with a larger target of 21,000 smart classrooms. The focus remains on creating an equitable learning environment that fosters student confidence and overall development.
