In Nashik, Maharashtra, a female employee at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) reported being discouraged from filing a sexual harassment complaint by a senior Human Resources (HR) official, who stated, “These things happen.” This incident has led to a significant investigation involving nine FIRs against an alleged organized group of employees at TCS. Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik revealed that seven male employees are implicated in multiple complaints, which include allegations of sexual harassment and attempted religious conversion. So far, eight employees, including seven men and a female operations manager, have been arrested, while another female suspect is currently absconding. A Special Investigation Team has been formed to delve deeper into the allegations, with police outreach encouraging more victims to come forward. TCS Chairman N Chandrasekaran expressed concern over the allegations, stating that the company follows a zero-tolerance policy and is conducting an internal inquiry.
