On April 19, 2023, the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) announced that more than 2,500 artisans have been trained in using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools as part of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. This initiative is designed to improve livelihoods and business potential by integrating grassroots artisans into the evolving AI ecosystem. The program aligns with the vision of 'AI for Social Good', promoting inclusive economic growth. Participants were introduced to prominent AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Indus, and Google Gemini, enabling them to apply technology in practical ways. Training focused on essential skills including branding, product design, and marketing strategies, aimed at enhancing business efficiency and expanding market reach. This effort is a significant step towards transforming India's rich artisanal heritage into a digitally empowered sector, enhancing its global competitiveness.
