In a tragic incident in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Shashi Ranjan Mishra (48) has been arrested for allegedly killing his 11-year-old twin daughters by slitting their throats with a sharp weapon. The crime occurred early Sunday at their residence in Trimoorti Apartment, located in the Kidwai Nagar area. Police were alerted around 4:30 AM and found the girls dead in a pool of blood, while Mishra was still at the scene. Commissioner of Police Raghubir Lal stated that Mishra, originally from Bihar, appeared to be mentally disturbed. The motive behind the brutal act remains unclear, and police are investigating the sequence of events, including the mother's awareness of the situation. Forensic teams have collected evidence, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage to gather more information.
