In a tragic incident in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, a 45-year-old medical representative has been arrested for allegedly murdering his 11-year-old twin daughters. The father reportedly slit their throats in their apartment while his wife was asleep in another room. Police received a call from the accused around 4:30 AM on Sunday, leading them to discover the bodies alongside a blood-soaked knife. Deputy Commissioner of Police Deependra Nath Chaudhary indicated that the case might be linked to psychiatric distress, particularly following the recent death of the man's mother. The wife revealed that the accused had expressed suicidal thoughts and had installed CCTV cameras to monitor her activities. Furthermore, a significant amount of medication was found in his room, and police are investigating whether he sedated his daughters before the attack.
