In a significant development, the Mumbai Crime Branch, supported by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force, has arrested Pradeep Kumar Ramsingh Jathav, an Agra-based individual, in connection with a shooting incident that occurred outside Rohit Shetty's residence in Juhu, Mumbai. This arrest marks the 15th in an ongoing investigation into the case, which has ties to organized crime networks. Jathav was apprehended after nearly two months of pursuit, aided by technical surveillance. During interrogation, he revealed that he was influenced by the Shubham Lonkar gang through social media platforms. The shooting, which took place on February 1, was reportedly well-planned, involving reconnaissance visits prior to the attack. The main shooter, Deepak Sharma, was allegedly motivated by financial distress and had accepted a contract for the shooting, with an initial payment of ₹50,000 out of a total of ₹3 lakh promised. While the police have recovered the weapon used, key suspects Lonkar and Arzoo Bishnoi are still at large.
