During a rally in Tenkasi, Tamil Nadu, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh criticized the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and Congress for their role in the defeat of amendments to the Nari Shakti Vandhan Adhiniyam, which aims to provide 33% reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies. Singh asserted that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is committed to passing this law, despite opposition from the DMK, Congress, and the Trinamool Congress (TMC). He labeled the DMK as synonymous with 'Dushprayogam Muraikedu Kutram', implying a history of misuse of power. Singh also highlighted the BJP's plans to restart the Karthigai Deepam tradition at Thiruparankundram hill, which was halted due to tensions in February 2025. Furthermore, he announced that if the BJP is elected, it would increase the annual subsidy for farmers in Tamil Nadu from ₹6,000 crore to ₹9,000 crore, along with providing free gas cylinders during major festivals.
