Wright State University, located in Dayton, Ohio, has announced the initiation of a national search for a new athletic director following the exit of Joylynn Brown. The university's President, Sue Edwards, emphasized the importance of athletics to the institution's mission and identity. An eight-member search committee is set to convene on April 20, 2023, to begin the selection process. The committee is co-chaired by Andy Platt, a former Wright State student athlete and current Board of Trustees member, and Greg Sample, the executive vice president and chief operating officer. Other committee members include athletics and academic representatives, such as Maigan Glass and Tom Hazelbaker, along with student representation from the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Robert Ray has been appointed as the interim athletic director while the search is underway, with the university aiming to appoint a new leader by fall 2023.
