The deceased include individuals from various states, including five from Chhattisgarh and five from West Bengal. In response, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced a compensation package of ₹5 lakh for each deceased's family and ₹50,000 for the injured. Vedanta Power also pledged ₹35 lakh for each deceased worker's family and ₹15 lakh for the injured, along with continued salary support. A magisterial inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the explosion and assess safety protocols.
