The Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) in Hyderabad has announced the cancellation of the final year MBBS general surgery paper-I examination, which was initially scheduled for April 15. This decision was prompted by discrepancies in the syllabus, as some questions were found to be outside the prescribed curriculum due to changes implemented by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Topics that were part of the old syllabus have been shifted to paper-II under the new regulations, leading to confusion among students. In light of multiple representations from students, KNRUHS decided to prioritize fairness in the evaluation process. The examination has been rescheduled for April 27 to ensure that students are not disadvantaged during their final year assessments.
