Fearing for their safety after hearing what they believed to be a gunshot, Telangi and his friend Sayan Nizamuddin Shaikh fled, only to be pursued by assailants identified as Tofik Shaikh, Rajan Doraswami, and Samir Shinde, among others. The attackers used machetes and bricks, leaving Telangi severely injured. He was rushed to Sassoon General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police have registered a murder case and are actively searching for the suspects.
