In a shocking incident in Delhi, a 26-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly attacking her 21-year-old neighbor with acid. The attack was motivated by jealousy, as the victim was set to marry the accused's former lover on April 19. The accused reportedly visited the victim's home under the pretense of friendship, spending time with the family before executing the attack. She offered the victim what she claimed was an energy drink and lemon water, which turned out to be acid. The victim suffered severe burns and is currently hospitalized at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. During police interrogation, the accused expressed her inability to accept the upcoming marriage, citing a long-standing relationship with the victim's fiancé. The police have registered a case under the relevant laws and are investigating further, including questioning the fiancé. The accused's sister revealed that she has been battling depression for nearly a decade, which may have contributed to her actions.
