Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced a significant initiative to enhance technical and vocational education in the capital's Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). New state-of-the-art laboratories will be established at four ITIs, including ITI Jahangirpuri, ITI Jail Road, ITI Arab Ki Sarai, and HJB ITI in Mayur Vihar. The initiative aims to modernize existing facilities and align training with current industry standards, benefiting approximately 1,072 trainees across various technical trades.
At ITI Jahangirpuri, a dedicated power electronics lab will be created, focusing on advanced training in areas such as electrical control systems and renewable energy. This lab will accommodate 480 trainees from trades like electrician and solar technician. ITI Jail Road will see an upgrade of its welder lab, enhancing training with advanced welding machines and simulation-based systems for around 200 trainees.
The automotive labs at ITI Arab Ki Sarai will introduce high-end Virtual Reality simulators for safe training in driving and repair, benefiting 208 trainees. Additionally, an Electric Vehicle lab at HJB ITI will focus on next-generation automotive technologies, training 184 trainees in electric vehicle systems. This initiative is part of the broader Skill India vision, aiming to build a skilled and industry-ready workforce in Delhi.
