Due to soaring temperatures in central India, the Collector and District Magistrate of Satna district, Madhya Pradesh, has announced a change in school timings. All schools, including government, private, and central institutions, will now operate from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM to ensure student safety during peak heat hours. Teachers are required to remain until 1:30 PM to fulfill academic duties. This decision comes as the state considers school holidays amid health concerns related to extreme heat. Additionally, neighboring Chhattisgarh has announced that summer vacations for schools will start earlier, on April 20, as stated by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. In Kerala, the General Education Minister has prohibited special classes during summer vacation, emphasizing adherence to student rights and previous court directives.
