Caeden Herrington, a skilled two-way defenseman from Manchester, Vermont, has officially committed to Penn State Hockey following his transfer from the University of Vermont. During the 2025-26 season, Herrington participated in 34 games, contributing one goal and seven assists. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2025 NHL Draft by the Los Angeles Kings. Prior to his time at Vermont, Herrington showcased his scoring ability with the Lincoln Stars in the United States Hockey League (USHL) during the 2024-25 season, where he netted 16 goals, ranking second in the league. With significant departures from Penn State's defense, including Jarod Crespo and Carter Schade graduating and Cade Christenson entering the transfer portal, Herrington's right-hand shot is expected to complement the team's defensive lineup effectively.
